Cosmetic surgery is an ever-evolving field that has new treatments being created and researched all the time. Nowadays it can feel daunting to find a safe, minimally invasive treatment for skin laxity that works for you. Luckily, with Renuvion cosmetic technology you can feel confident in its effectiveness and achievable results. This technology tightens loose skin without the need for invasive surgery or a lengthy recovery period. In Glendale, AZ, Dr. Paul Angelchik offers Renuvion to patients who want to tighten their skin for an improved body contour.
What is Renuvion?
Renuvion is an innovative, minimally invasive cosmetic technology that is FDA-approved. This device uses helium gas that when exposed to energy rapidly converts to an ion plasma. To do this, the helium gas is energized by radiofrequency waves produced by an electrical current which creates a precise stream of plasma energy. The plasma is hot, but not nearly as hot as a standard electrocautery which is used in surgery. Plasma temperature is only around 185 degrees Fahrenheit. The remaining helium gas flows over the treatment area. The plasma beam generates heat to contract the skin while the remaining helium works to simultaneously cool the area. The treatment can be applied externally to resurface and tighten skin, or internally to tighten the skin and connective tissue under the skin called the fibroseptal network. The precision of the plasma allows the treatment of an area with minimal heating to to surrounding tissue. This improves the margin of safety of the treatment
How Does Renuvion Work?
For internal skin tightening, Renuvion uses a long, thin handheld device called a cannula. This is inserted under the skin through small incisions. Radiofrequency waves energize helium gas, creating a powerful but precise plasma beam. As the device is moved across the treatment area, the cool plasma heats the fibroseptal network connecting the skin to the underlying muscles which causes the skin to contract. This method also stimulates natural collagen production in the skin to help with long-lasting results.
Am I a Good Renuvion Candidate?
If you are in good general health but have some loose skin, then you are a good candidate for the Renuvion treatment with Dr. Angelchik. Renuvion is a great choice for patients who have moderate skin laxity, do not wish to undergo open surgery, or who do not have time to go through an extensive recovery period. While open surgery and skin removal remains the gold standard, Renuvion can offer excellent skin tightening results on numerous body areas, such as:
- Abdomen

- Back
- Buttocks

What Results Can I Expect?
